http://www.scatwellness.com/specialEvents.htmlThe San Carlos Apache Tribe Wellness Center is a highly acclaimed, nationally recognized program. They continually strive to improve their services and have successfully introduced innovative prevention and clinical programs that other clinics and tribal programs now utilize. They believe in the healing power of peer mentoring and community support groups. Their facility is available for use by self-led AA groups. Anyone can come to self-help groups, even without enrolling at the Wellness Center.
The Wellness Center works with individuals who recognize their need to get help with substance abuse problems and with local courts and probation departments to offer treatment programs that will fulfill court ordered legal requirements. If you are court ordered for DUI treatment, you will also be asked at your intake appointment to stay for an additional hour to complete two assessment measures that the State of Arizona legally requires. The MAST is a paper and pencil survey and the DRI-2 is a computer-based test. If you have any challenges with reading, our staff will assist you in this process.
The Wellness Center strives to offer a number of services that support the wellness activities of our members, such as: AA meetings - from 12:00 to 1:00 Monday, Wednesday and Friday; Family Support – where families may receive information about how to help the person in treatment by understanding their needs and goals ; Group Education – periodic educational groups, programs or public events that focus on learning information about a particular subject; Health Promotion & Prevention – Trainings and community events facilitated by Wellness Center staff to raise awareness of issues such as alcohol and drug use, suicide and violence; Point-of-Pines Wellness Camp – a facility at Point-of-Pines, managed by Wellness Center that is used to hold retreats and trainings that support health and wellness; Referrals – can offer recommendations for services at other facilities and programs based on the needs of an individual; and Transportation – in certain circumstances, the Wellness Center can offer transportation to Wellness Center programs.
